There is something exceptionally disturbing when it comes to young people having children. In the past, going back centuries, it wasn’t uncommon to see marriages of young people in the pre-teens or early teenage years, as the lifespan of people were shorter and many dying by the time they reach the age of 30. Along with young marriages, childbearing started pretty young so that these girls could produce as many children as possible to rule out averages of stillbirth and early death. But the evolution of society is now encouraging people to wait as long as possible to have children.
So when people find out that children are having children, it is nearly guaranteed that controversy will be stirred up, and all attention hits the parents of the pregnant child. Judgments are passed and debates are born nearly every minute. But when news like this hits, sometimes people don’t even know the identity of the young parents given the fact that they are minors and are privy to privacy. In an age where waiting to have children is encouraged so that you can be as financially stable as possible in order to support a new life, young parents come across as irresponsible and contributing to the downfall of society. It isn’t true, but people on both sides of the moral compass will argue and debate that statement. There are still people today who are not only accepting of teenage pregnancy, but will often encourage their children to get pregnant at a young age. This typically happens with parents who had their children at young ages. It is also a prevalent mindset in religious families where they believe it is their duty to repopulate the earth with soldiers for God.
